AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE
On the eve of World War I, fifteen year-old Anka (Dana Droppová) arrives in Prague to work as a maid for a wealthy family. Dislocated in this considerably privileged, repressive and particularly demanding environment, Anka struggles to find her place. But her position is bolstered when Anka befriends Resi (Radka Cadlová), the daughter in the noble family. Dressed in silk and linen and set in painterly landscapes, The Chambermaid bursts with passion and sensitivity. Portraying a kind of romance which was strictly forbidden, this period story is emotionally dense, thematically rich, and unavoidably touching.
A ticket to the Opening Night in either city includes a drink upon arrival, with nibbles, live music, and a pre screening performance.
